A story about bernie

I’ve “bumped” into Bernie around the 43Things cyberworld several times and I find her simply fascinating. Her goals and her accomplishments are indicative of someone I would be drawn to as a person and a friend. And, meeting could actually become a reality since we live close enough to arrange a meeting.

Why I want to meet Amy

Amy has definite ideas of what she wants to do and where she wants to go. She is articulate, and craves to keep a positive outlook on life. I think we would have a blast hanging out, talking about this-n-that, and discussing life in general. I’m always interested in broadening my circle of friends, and I would be honored to include Amy as one.

Why I want to meet Kitty

Kitty wrote a very inspiring and flattering comment for me long ago, mentioning that she’d like to add some of my things to her list. Her entries are sincere, often witty and often wise, and I dig her list over at All Consuming. She is a thoughtful woman with good taste, and I think we’d have a great time if we got together!

Why I want to meet Kitty

Lawsee, Miss Scarlett, who wouldn’t want to meet Miss Kitty? She’s my kind of good ol’ Southern girl, also!

Miss Kitty has on her page a photo of a haunted bridge in Euharlee, Georgia. Now how cool is that? I’m not sure where Euharlee, Georgia is, but if it has things like screaming bridges there, it certainly sounds like a place I would want to check out. As soon as I get a place cleared off my 43places, I intend to add Euharlee to it. Or—heck—I may just go there without adding it!

Aside from being from the Place of the Screaming Bridge, Ms. Kitty is a Georgia peach who, like me, wants to buy an old house and fix it up. A southern belle after my own heart! And what better place than the south to find great old houses? As soon as I read that, I knew that we were kindred spirits. (No, I don’t mean spirits in the liquid-libation kind, although we might some day tip a mint julep or two together.) (Does anyone know how to make a mint julep?)

Also, I grew up watching Gunsmoke, so there’s just something about women named Kitty that I feel fond about. Marshall Dillon be damned, Miss Kitty was really the one who kept that town in order and don’t you know it?

Why I want to meet danielmcg

I was instantly drawn to daniel’s photographs, and the amazing ability he has to ‘capture’ scenes with such clarity and ‘in-the-moment’ precision. I find him to be open and honest in the way he writes, and he seems like someone I would really like to add to my circle of friends.

A story about victornado

This was an “instant” connection! We talked via phone for over two years before we finally met in person. I feel as if I have known her all of my life, and feel closer to her than I do some of my own family.

If I were ever given one phone call, I’d probably call Vic! Of course, she’d probably have to make a few more calls just to bail me out .ha-ha.

Why I want to meet FlyGirl

When I received the e-mail that FlyGirl wanted to meet me, I was curious . . . but, as soon as I read the first thing she had written, I knew we ‘connected’ – it’s all a Southern thing, ya know! We Southerners have an instant connection to other Southerners and can pick them out of a crowd.

She has a wide and diverse group that she wants to meet, as well as a wide range of goals and places to visit – a well-rounded, good ‘ole Southern gal . . . my kinda girl!
